Presenters

Share your experience with EMPOWER! Whether you're new to EMPOWER or a seasoned user, your EMPOWER cohorts want to hear from you. Topics can range from best practices you've discovered to obstacles you've overcome to changes that have occurred at your school as a result of implementing EMPOWER.

Sessions are typically 40 minutes long--30 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes of Q&A.

Deadlines

Please mark these important due dates on your calendar!

  • Presentation form: Monday, February 13, 2012
  • PowerPoint presentation: Friday, May 11, 2012
  • Additional handout materials (if applicable): Friday, May 11, 2012

 

Presentations

PowerPoint presentations must be saved with the title of your session and your name in the following format: SESSION TITLE-NAME.ppt (or pptx).

Email your presentation to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than Friday, May 11, 2012. Your presentation will be loaded on the computer in your assigned meeting room.

 

Handouts

Handouts are encouraged for all session presentations. If your presentation is emailed by the above due date, handouts for your session will be prepared and available in the meeting room at the start of your session. Be sure to also email any additional materials you want to make available to session attendees.

 

*Important:  When using screen shots in your presentation, please be sure they are formatted for an entire slide in PowerPoint.  In addition, choose a readable font size for text.  This is suggested so that attendees can see the screen and text clearly during your presentation and in your handout materials.

 

Session Schedule

Sessions will be assigned to specific time slots and meeting rooms after presenters have been confirmed for every session. This information will be available around mid-March.

 

Meeting Room Setup

Each meeting room will be equipped with the following:

  • Laptop computer with Microsoft Office
  • LCD projector
  • Projection screen
  • Internet access

Note: If you plan to use the internet during your presentation, be sure to have a backup plan in place should there be any unforeseen internet access problems during your session.
